Kernel methods for phenotyping plants: an application to QTL Mapping

Résumé : This talk proposes to investigate the used of kernel methods to analyse architecture inflorescence of plants. We construct a specific kernel to measure the similarities between different plants and study the derived kernel methods. We propose to apply this methodology to design QTL in genetic maps related to this complex character. We finally illustrate the performances of these methods over both simulated and real datasets. This work in progress is a collaboration with Koji Kawamura (Osaka Institute of Technology).
